1. Site Class

 

Soil property 에 따라 Site class A,B,C,D,E or F 로 구분되며 일반적으로 Project spec 에 명기되어 있음. 특별한 명기가 없다면 Class D 를 사용 할 것.

 

Site Class 에 따라 Fa (short period site coefficient), Fv (long-period site coefficient) 값이 달라짐. 즉 지반이 무를수록 지진파는 증폭된다.

 

Class A: Hard Rock

Class B: Rock

Class C: Very dense soil and soft rock

Class D: Stiff soil

Class E: Soft clay soil

Class F: Soils requiring site response analysis in accordance with Section 21.1

 

 

2. Risk Category

 

Risk category 는 위치에 따라 human 에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 고려하는 factor 로 table 1.5-1, ASCE 7-10 에 명기되어 있다.

 

해당 빌딩이나 equipment 가 fail 이 일어나 내부의 물질이 세어 나올 경우 human life 에 얼마나 치명적인지를 고려한다.

 

- Category I: Buildings and structures that represent a low risk to human life in the event of failure.

- Category II: All buildings and other structures not covered by Risk Categories I, III and IV.

- Category III: Buildings and other structures, the failure of which could pose a substantial risk to human life. Typically, the equipment inside of a refinery falls under this category.

- Category IV: Buildings and other structures, the failure of which could pose a substantial hazard to the community.

 

3. Importance factor (I)

 

Importance factor 는 Risk Category 와 연관이 있으며 category 숫자가 높을수록 factor 값이 올라가고 Cs (seismic response coefficient) 값이 올라간다.

 

- Cs=Sds / (R/I)

- 1.0 for Risk Category is I or II

- 1.25 for Risk Category is III

- 1.5 for Risk Category is IV

 

4. Spectral Response Acceleration at Short Second Period, Ss / at 1 Second Period, S1

 

해당 값은 project spec 에 명기되어 있으며 Ss 값은 0.2 초 spectral response acceleration 으로 ASCE 7-10, 11.4 에 따라 결정된다.

 

 

5. 반응수정계수 Response Modification Coefficient, R

 

Vessel 의 support type 에 따라서 ASCE 7-10, Table 15.4-2 에 따라 조정값을 고려한다.

- Use 3 for skirt supported vertical vessels or saddle supported vessels.

- Use 3 for vessels on symmetrically braced legs.

- Use 2 for vessels on unbraced legs or asymmetrically braced legs.

 

ASCE Table 15.4.2 에 따라 risk category=IV or R=3 적용 시 special detailing 요구 사항에 의해 15.7.10.5 항에 따른 skirt bucking 계산 수행
