Wind Load calculation for Pressure Vessel

1. Wind Code

- Pressure vessel 의 wind 계산은 ASCE / IBC / UBC code 에 따라 계산한다.

- 일반적으로 ASCE 7 (American Society of Civil Engineers ) 을 적용하며 7-5, 7-10, 7-16 edition 은

   project spec 에 따라 선택 적용 한다.

1) Cf : Wind force coefficient

   - shape factor 로써 flat 보다 round 가 wind pressure 를 덜 받게 되니 force 계산시 적용

   - Vessel 의 경우 일반적으로 0.8 적용

   - 아니면 h/D 를 이용하여 보간법으로 산출

2) Basic Wind Speed

   - 해당 지역의 basic wind speed map 에 따라 결정됨

   - 보통은 project spec 또는 BEDD 에 wind speed 가 명기되어 있음.

 

3) Exposure (B,C,D)

   - ASCE 에 명기되어 있으며 project spec 에 따라 적용

   - Exposure A : Large city center

   - Exposure B : Urban and suburban areas

   - Exposure C : Open terrain (most sites use this value)

   - Exposure D : Flat unobstructed coastal areas

   - Exposure category 에 따라 일부 parameter 에 영향을 줌.

 

4) Kd : Wind Directionality Factor

   - vessel 의 경우 일반적으로 0.95 적용

5) Kzt : Topographic Factor

   - 언덕이나 급경사등의 지형에 따른 factor 값

   - Kzt = (1+K1K2K3)^2 

   - 일반적으로 vessel 에서는 큰 영향이 없기 때문에 Kzt=1 적용함.

6) Ke : Ground elevation factor

   - 7-16 부터 사용된 값으로 Ke=1 for all elevation 으로 적용

 

7) Kz : Velocity pressure exposure coefficient evaluated at height z=h

  - elevation 에 따라 velocity pressure qz 값이 달라짐.
